Seems expensive, but I took a chance and am very pleased with this product.
Expensive, but worth the price. I have found it difficult to find an over the counter retinol product that works. This seems effective. I found that using it daily did dry my face and I had some minor peeling, but after that initial phase those effects resolved. I have fairly sensitive skin and I am tolerating it well. I do use a good moisturizer. If it seems to irritating starting with applications less frequently, as most retinol products recommend, should help ease your skin into it. The pump dispenses a small drop per pump and that is enough for my face and neck. I will purchase this again, although this bottle should last quite a while given the small amount used for each application.

Great product. Don’t think it twice to get it.
I was using the .5 and started with the 1.0 just a week ago. I can see the difference in just one week. I have mix skin with acne scars and sun marks. Skin got softly peeled and already got a firmer and smoother look. I highly recommend but judging for it’s immediate action I would say to take breaks for sensitive skins in between usage. For the rest this product is high quality. Highly recommended.

I started using the SkinMedica Retinol Complex 0.5 Feb 5th of this year. On June 5th, after 4 months of use I upped it to the 1.0 strength because I felt like my skin was good enough and prepared enough for a stronger retinol. . I went through a slight, but not bad, peeling stage with a little redness, with the 1.0 because I think my skin was pretty used to the retinol after using a weaker strength for 4 months.. (The first 2 months with the 0.5 was awful.. My skin was super red, super flaky and super sensitive.. Even to wash it with Cervae face wash, which is super gentle, even hurt it).. The peeling and redness lasted about 2 weeks with the 1.0 vs 2 months with the 0.5 and now my skin is wonderful! It looked really good after the 4 months using the 0.5, but after 6 weeks of the 1.0 it looks even better.. It’s much smoother and super even toned. The few sun spots that I have have faded tremendously and I can feel a lift in my face and a tightening in my skin. It’s definitely worth the ugly stage that retinol causes, to get to this stage.. For me that is.. The only down side, if this is even a down side, is it didn’t help make my pores smaller which I had hoped for, but with the right primer and foundation it can hide them.. Especially now with super smooth skin. I recommend this for everyone to help with aging and prevent aging and I am so glad I started using it!

I can’t say enough about this product. When it comes to skin care price is not the biggest factor as long as the product genuinely works and let me tell you, this product WORKS!!! IT WORKS!!! Please be careful with this retinol if u decide to go for the 1.0 strength cuz u don’t have sensitive skin because u WILL burn n peel off this stuff. I made the mistake and did this treatment two nights in a row and oh boy!!! I couldn’t treat my face again for 2 weeks!! It literally felt like I got a chemical peel 💯. I tell u what tho my skin is beaming and tight, lifted, pores shrunk and fine lines gone. Even my hard creases in my forhead relaxed sum and that’s all off one treatment. I may get a weaker strength so I can use it more often. Forget about any other retinol buy this!!

I think this stuff really works. My skin does seem smoother with fewer wrinkles showing. Retinol is the only chemical that’s been tested to work. It’s expensive, and I wouldn’t recommend it for delicate skin, but it works for me.

FANTASTIC PRODUCT THAT ACTUALLY WORKS!!
Be careful! This stuff works! I bought it on the advice of a dermatologist! Yes, kinda pricey, I know. Skin peels for the first few weeks…which is what it’s supposed to do! Now, my skin no longer peels but because this stuff is so strong, I now only use it about twice a week now. Because I love what it’s done for my face, I started using it on my hands & I swear, my hands are visibly improving! However, there is a downside, but it’s NOT the fault of this product. I learned the hard way that when using retinol, you must also use sunscreen…or you’ll be sorry…and, one unusually hot day, I was sorry…after walking around for no more than 15 minutes! Ouch!! I looked like a lobster head! I’ll never do that again! Kind of bummed that it put an end to my tanning days…but, because of the great results, I can live without baking in the sun for, so far, one season!! I repeat: THIS STUFF WORKS! And trust me, I am no spring chicken!!
