Lasts all night
So I really wasn’t sure how I felt about trying this cream at first. The packaging was just a tad worn so I worried about it possibly being something past its date. But upon opening the jar, everything seemed sealed and looked fresh. I couldn’t really tell by smelling because there does seem to be some kind of soft fragrance. I am generally hesitant about applying scented creams or lotions to my face, though, so it took me a while after opening before I would use it on my face. I tried it first on the back of my hand, then on my arms, and a few days later just to my cheeks without issue. In fact, I was quite pleased with how it performed.I applied it first during the day when I could monitor for any signs of irritation to my generally more sensitive skin and saw none. So that night before bed I applied it again just to my cheeks and laugh lines and was surprised to find when I woke up in the morning that I could still feel the product on my skin. Also with zero irritation. This made me curious about ingredients because I was sure I would find something like petrolatum but according to the ingredients, there is none. I was also surprised to find there was no fragrance added, so whatever scent I am detecting may just be from one of the natural ingredients.I am pretty picky when it comes to creams and lotions, especially those I apply to my face and I have been lucky enough to have tried a lot of well known expensive brands. As such I was fully prepared to hate this, but I didn’t, I actually really liked it. The only thing that gives me pause is the scent as I am a little scent sensitive so it takes me a while to get used to anything scented I put on my face and this isn’t one I wouldn’t have chosen in a store. I don’t hate it but it’s not something I love either. It’s light though so if you’re not a super smeller like me you may not even notice it. And it didn’t irritate my skin so that’s a plus. I’m not sure I’ll apply it to any areas that might clog due to the dimethicone, but I will definitely use it on my cheeks, which have deeper lines and I feel like can use a little extra at nighttime when I often sleep on my sides.This is a new brand for me but I think I would try more of their line as this cream really does do what it says with a pretty good ingredient list. I’ll continue to use it.

Since childhood I have loved “sneaking” things that weren’t technically “for me.” Sometimes I use products designed for men (because they’re often cheaper,) and Sometimes I use products designed for more mature women because the product is better. I took vitamins intended for women 50+ since my late teens (based on a doctor’s recommendation,) so using a night cream geared for women 55+ while I’m still wrapping up my 40s doesn’t feel like much of a stretch. If you look at the ingredients, this formula is just full of great stuff for your skin. I really appreciate that it is made right here in the US, too, because I have more confidence in the quality and actual contents of the ingredients than I do with a lot of the cheaper products from China. This cream is a bit pricier than I usually want to buy, but I’d have to argue it is is pretty worth it if you can afford it.First of all, there is no fragrance to this cream so it isn’t triggering my allergies. I can’t stand scented facial products, not just because I’m allergic, but because those ingredients are bad for your skin. I’ve never understood companies who add fragrance to facial products and I am thrilled TRUPURE chose to leave them out. I have very sensitive skin that has had reactions to all sorts of products that are marked as being safe for sensitive skin so I never believe it until I try it. This one absolutely is sensitive skin friendly! It feels thick when you scoop it out, but it melts into your skin like butter. A little goes a long way. It immediately felt good on my skin and didn’t leave me looking shiny or feeling greasy at all which makes this an appealing cream for anyone sleeping with a partner or who is concerned about getting product on their pillow. I didn’t have any redness or irritation after applying this cream. The next morning I didn’t have breakouts or itchy skin. What I did have was incredibly soft skin that was absolutely glowing with plant-based hydration and when I saw my reflection I actually said, out loud, “Oh yeah, that’s what I’m talking about!” Usually I need to use a product for a while to be able to tell if it’s doing me any good, but I saw improvement after one night’s use!Truly, the only thing I don’t love about this product is the price for the amount you get. While a little goes a long way, this isn’t a huge jar and I would personally struggle to afford this every month (or two if I ration it.) I am sure it is 100% worth the price for what it does for maturing skin, but I will definitely be keeping an eye out for coupons and sales because I would very much like to keep using this wonderful cream!

Wanted to luv it….but
As a dry skin type I really wanted to luv this night barrier cream by TRUPURE but it just didn’t happen.I had extremely high hopes with this product when I ordered it and was expecting a very deeply moisturizing cream. It has a good ingredients list but it does contain alcohol if that is something that bothers you. Otherwise the ingredients are quite nice. It’s fragrance free which is usually a must for me so that’s a definite pro. I really like the thick texture which almost reminds me of Crisco oil in the tub. It applies well and is not greasy, it seems super promising at first and for a few hours it feels great. Later on however it feels like nothing was put on my skin and it just falls flat. I know other reviewers luv this product and this is only based on my experience and opinion.I was also confused by the directions which state to use it as the final step in your skin care routine after moisturizer????I thought it was a moisturizer. So I tried it both ways, without my regular moisturizer then the next night on top of my moisturizer. I found exactly no difference using it either way and it did nothing better than my regular moisturizer, in fact once I stopped experimenting with it and returned to my regular routine my skin felt much better and hydrated. It is made in the USA but it is something I will not be incorporating into my skin care routine as there is just no need for it. It may be someone else’s holy grail product but again not high performing enough for me and especially for the high price point. It’s a pass for me
