Why 25% non-nano zinc oxide instead of a lower percentage?
Most mineral sunscreens use 15-20% zinc oxide. At 25%, Sun Zapper creates a denser physical UV barrier. Non-nano particles sit on skin’s surface instead of absorbing in. Zero chemical filters. The zinc does all the work.
Will this leave a white cast on my skin?
Tinted variants (Face SPF 30, Anti-Aging SPF 30) use iron oxides for a skin-tone finish with no visible cast. Non-tinted variants rub in with minimal residue on light to medium skin tones. For the smoothest result, apply in thin layers and build up.
What does reef safe mean and how do I verify it?
It means the formula contains no chemical UV filters that damage coral and marine life. Every Pure Zinc product uses non-nano zinc oxide as the sole active — no oxybenzone, no octinoxate, no chemical filters of any kind. Hawaii Act 104 compliant.
Can I use this under makeup or with retinol and serums?
Yes. Zinc oxide sits on skin as a physical barrier, so it won’t destabilize retinol, vitamin C, or AHAs underneath. Apply skincare first, then Pure Zinc last before makeup. The tinted Face and Anti-Aging variants work as a light coverage base too.
Is 100g (3.5 oz) enough? How long does one bottle last?

If you ware UV clothing, this will keep the spots it doesn’t cover safe !!
This pump zink sun block sure did the dang thing!! All my friends used it and I barely got any color!!!! It does take a bit of rubbing to blend this silky smooth sun block but the effects last long and do the job!!!

Good mineral sunscreen
This is a good mineral sunscreen. It has a nice clean ingredient list and is vegan and cruelty free. It’s not irritating and doesn’t cause breakouts or skin discomfort. For a mineral sunscreen, this has a very minimal white cast. After a fair amount of rubbing it does blend. It’s also a lot easier to rub in and less streaky than most. It’s fragrance free, which is nice for sensitive skin or just those who don’t want to go around smelling of sunscreen. Overall good quality for the price and I will probably order again .

Plenty of Protection and Easy to Apply
This sunscreen fantastic for especially sunny days (pool days in my home). It goes on thick at first but once I worked it in I liked how solid and protective it felt on my skin. I also appreciate that it did not leave me looking like a haunted Victorian child (which is always my fear with zinc sunscreen). My family has been spending more simple days in the sun lately and I can’t stress enough how easy this stuff is to apply. That sounds like a little thing until you’re dealing with a six year old and his three crazed friends.

Great quality
I love the size of the tube and how it pumps out. It does have a thick feel to it but in my opinion that helps give a better coverage and water proof ability so it doesn’t bother me. It’s winter so I haven’t got to try it in the summer sun but it helped out on some of the warmer sunny days. I tan easily but get pale in the winter so I have to be careful at the start of the tanning season and this protected my pale skin well. I really do like that I can put this in my purse and travel with it. I love a good quality sunscreen and I feel this is it!

I typically use Japanese and Korean sunscreens for their elegant feel and advanced combination of UVB and UVA filters; however, when I saw this pop onto my feed I knew I needed to get it. If there is one things Australians know about, it’s sun protection!I used to have a wonderful product rather similar to this that was from a high-end hippie Bulgarian company and I LOVED it. It was sadly discontinued and I had never found a suitable replacement…until now.This product has sea buckthorn oil, a potent oil with a ton of benefits including burn healing (Google it!) and a bunch of soothing plant extracts. While thicker than my previous formula, it absorbs super quickly and does not leave a tacky layer. I am pasty white so it’s always hard to tell if a sunscreen leaves a white cast on me, but I didn’t look especially vampiric so I will assume that it didn’t. The finish is somewhere in between light glow and matte and makes your skin look very healthy.I use a retinal and daily sunscreen is a must regardless of the weather, so I am happy to find a Western product that has similar skincare benefits to an Asian sunscreen but with arguably healthier ingredients. Also, I really love the pump bottle; it’s so much easier to control the amount and it’s more portable than my previous sunscreen which also had a pump but was made of glass. It’s a great sunscreen that pretty much checks all my boxes.Please note that you do need to reapply every 80 min as opposed to the typical 120, but that is not an issue for most people.Hope this helps!

I have tan olive skin and this makes my face look like a pale purple. I used it for running and people would do a double take because I looked ridiculous. It does protect your skin and it’s thin but you do need a few pumps because as soon as it touches your skin it sticks to it so it’s difficult to spread.
